Kent is known as the Garden of England for its rolling meadows, fruit orchards and leafy hop fields. From our base in Ashford, we experience Kent’s highlights and hidden gems such as the impressive Sissinghurst Castle and Gardens and the iconic Leeds Castle. We also visit Chapel Down Vineyard, renowned for its award-winning sparkling wine, plus elegant Tunbridge Wells and a train ride through the delightful countryside.

Your Excursions

Sissinghurst Castle Garden & Chapel Down Vineyard:
Our day begins at Sissinghurst Castle Garden, a designated Grade I garden. Later we visit the award-winning Chapel Down Vineyard to learn how their wines are harvested and produced, followed by a tutored tasting!

Leeds Castle & Royal Tunbridge Wells:
We explore the grounds, attractions and beautiful interior of the 12th century Leeds Castle, before continuing to Royal Tunbridge Wells, famous for the historic 17th century Pantiles.

Hastings, Rye & the Kent & East Sussex Steam Railway:
By train from Tenterden we admire the scenic Sussex surrounds as we steam towards Bodiam, looking out for a glimpse of the castle. Continue by coach to the coast visiting Hastings, and the medieval citadel of Rye.

VOCO THE CLIFTON HOTEL, Folkestone

Primarily known for its scenic views and grandeur, this traditional Victorian-style hotel dates to 1864 and is steeped in a rich history and nostalgia. It takes pride in being one of the most historic hotels in Folkestone.
