Tuesday: We head north and hop over the border making a “Pre Hogmanay” stop at Gretna Green, where you’ll find the Famous Blacksmiths Shop, along with an array of shopping and eating opportunities. Arriving at the hotel, we are greeted with festive refreshments. Time now to settle in prior to this evening’s dinner which is followed by light entertainment.

New Year’s Eve: Following breakfast we head to pretty Keswick, located on Derwentwater and surrounded by large fells including Skiddaw and Blencathra, offering an abundance of independent shops, cafés and attractions. We return via Ullswater, surrounded by stunning mountain scenery, and the second largest lake in England. Back at the hotel don your finery for this evenings celebrations which begin with a drinks reception, followed by dinner and dancing ‘til late as we bring in 2026!

New Year’s Day: After a well-earned lie-in and a leisurely breakfast, we take a drive to Bowness-on-Windermere and board a pleasure boat for a relaxing cruise on the lake followed by free time in this idyllic lakeside town. Tonight there is a farewell dinner followed by a fun quiz or bingo provided by the friendly hotel team to conclude your New Year break.

Friday: Departing after breakfast we spend time in the Cumbrian town of Carlisle then make our way back to the local areas.
