Your Excursions

Ullswater Steamer & Keswick
We head to Ullswater, the second largest lake in the Lake District, sit back and relax on a circular cruise aboard an Ullswater Steamer. Later we visit Keswick, surrounded by mountains such as Skiddaw, it’s a real hidden gem.

Ambleside & Windermere Cruise
At the far north of Windermere lies pretty Ambleside with a host of shops, cafés and galleries. From here we cruise admiring the fells and ancient woodlands en-route to Bowness-on- Windermere where you can explore its quaint alleyways and lively lakeside quays.

Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway & Cockermouth
Boarding at Ravenglass we take the quirky narrow-gauge railway and drink in the views along the seven-mile trip before arriving at the foot of Scafell Pike. Then onto Cockermouth, a Georgian market town with plenty to explore and enjoy.

The Castle Inn, Bassenthwaite

Originally a coaching Inn dating back to 1770, but now part of the Best Western Signature Collection, its sleek interior and views of the fells and Bassenthwaite Lake make it a perfect choice for visiting the Lakes. It boasts a beautiful location just 8 miles from Keswick and a short walk from the lake.
